New Developments in Topologies and Magnetics to Reach 99% Efficiency Using the Latest Semiconductor Devices
Digital Meeting: June 17, 2021 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Rompower’s CEO Ionel Jitaru will present a Digital Professional Education Seminar for APEC 2021, entitled “New Developments in Topologies and Magnetics to Reach 99% Efficiency Using the Latest Semiconductor Devices”.
Soft switching topologies have become popular in many applications in
the last thirty years. Some of these technologies have added too much
complexity and their practical use became questionable. In addition,
most of the traditional soft switching topologies address just the soft
switching on the primary side and not the soft switching on the
secondary side. The latest developments in semiconductor technologies
such as SiC and GaNs devices have facilitated the soft switching
operation. The ultra-low impedance of the latest semiconductor devices
have also created the opportunity for new magnetic technologies. The
goal of this seminar is to present a new soft switching technology which
can be applied to any of the classical hard switching topology
converting them to a “true soft switching topology”. In “true soft
switching topology”, the primary switching devices turn on at zero
voltage and the secondary switching devices turn off at zero current.
There is no ringing or spikes across any of the switching devices in
primary or secondary.
Since 1992 Rompower is presenting professional seminars at different International conferences such as APEC and PCIM Europe. The seminars were attended with great enthusiasm by many power conversion emgineers over the years with great reviews. Below are several reviews from previous seminars at APEC.
“Your seminar on magnetics was the single most useful and practical discussions I had at APEC. It takes great technical leaders like you to keep the power electronics field interesting and motivating for the community.“
-Peng Xiao, OSRAM
“Your tutorial was the most inspiring one I have ever heard“
-Dennis Bura, Bosch Research
“I enjoyed your seminar on Monday and was intrigued by your presentation.“
